"Second Life®" (SL) is a virtual world developed by Linden Lab. In simple terms it’s a real-time interactive 3-D environment and where you are able to see, speak and socialize with each other and be able to visit places together and interact with the environment.

For example, SL has many live events and concerts to visit and many areas to explore. Enrollment is free, however, many residents buy land and build their own place, creating a permanent presence in a similar way that a blog page or website does on the internet.
As well as being a social network, SL has many opportunities for business and education - pretty much any activity, social or business that is done in real life can be done in SL.
